So how did the demo of Tim Schaeffer's new platformer play out?
Firstly, the platforming is business as usual. Jumping, climbing, swinging and whatnot, as you collect tons of trinkets (though not nearly as many as in, say, a Rare platformer). Its well enough made, though I don't know how long it would entertain after enough levels.
Everything else about the game is ... interesting to say the least. The style of this game is, well... indescribable. A bunch of freaky looking psychics traveling into people's minds in order to protect our thoughts. Of course, this leads to some great comedy pieces as only Schaeffer can make them, and a very unique style to all of the environments. The first actual level, well... you really have to play it to appreciate just how much attention to detail there is to every little corner of the map.
And of course, the visuals are very sharp and the voice acting very solid, as seems to be par for the course with Tim's games.
Just download it and see for yourself. The actual gameplay is perhaps just "good enough",but the rest of the game is so damn trippy and crazy. A huge breath of fresh air in the genre.
Edit: Better provide a link for the curious.
